The Latinitas Media Career & College Conference will be hosted at UTEP on Thursday, June 11th with the goal of inspiring and training the next generation of media professionals. Latinitas, a nonprofit focused on empowering girls through media, is collaborating with UTEP to host a teen career and college conference. Students will participate in media enrichment workshops to imagine themselves as future reporters, web editors, news anchors, radio DJs or photojournalists. Participants will tour the UTEP campus, meet with media professionals, hear from college students majoring in communication and listen to a panel of college professors. Professional media producers will train girls how to use their own experiences and digital technology to create their own media. Girls in grades 9th through 12th with an interest in journalism are invited to participate in this event. Space is limited, so registration is limited and rsvp is required.
