LatinitasMagazine.com is currently accepting applications for high school multimedia interns as well as freelance writers and editors. Latinitas is the first digital magazine by and for U.S. Latina youth. The award-winning digital magazine is published monthly on-line with articles about culture, entertainment, profiles and youth issues. From quinces to dating, advice to fashion and wellness to culture, Latinas focuses on topics related to being a Latina teen today. High school girls interested in developing their writing and multimedia skills and getting published in LatinitasMagazine.com are invited to attend our weekly reporter meetings. CLUB LATINITAS

Club Meets Weekly (After-school at Various Sites)

Latinitas hosts a series of free weekly after-school girl empowerment clubs where middle school girls can gather to find creative ways to express themselves through multimedia arts. In this girl-friendly place, Latinitas will explore visual arts, photography, writing, radio production, journalism and film making. Each week will offer a different hands-on workshop where girls can discover the power of self-expression and confidence. The clubs are held after school every week at the following community centers:

THROUGH HER EYES PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBIT

La Fe Cultural & Technology Center

Latinitas will partner with the La Fe Cultural & Technology Center to celebrate the creative talents of local girls in a special "Through Her Eyes" photography exhibit. The exhibit showcases the photography of El Paso residents ages 10 to 18 from Latinitas after-school clubs, a local youth program that uses creative multimedia education to empower Latina youth. The photos present a vibrant, expressive and fascinating portrait of the border community as depicted by youth photographers. The exhibit will be featured in the Community Gallery throughout April. LATINITAS COLLEGE DAY

Girls Ages 11-18

Latinitas members are invited to a field trip to UTEP. Girls will have an opportunity to tour the campus, meet college students, learn about college life, discuss the importance of education and get tips on how to start planning early for college. FREE MULTIMEDIA ART CLASSES FOR GIRLS

Girls are invited to get in touch with their creative side in the Latinitas Multimedia Art Classes. Girls in grades 4-8 will explore ways to express themselves creatively through photos, writing, arts & crafts and film. This creative expression series is hosted the 2nd Saturday of every month from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at the Judge Marquez Public Library (610 N. Yarbrough). Donations accepted.
