Latinitas is a part of the hosting committee for the upcoming Stay Teen Day. The event is geared toward raising awareness of the issue of teen pregnancy and encouraging youth to stay teen and postpone parenthood. During Teen Pregnancy Prevention Month in May, this full-day conference is aimed at uniting and educating teens for a positive change. This free event will feature testimonials from teen parents about the challenges of being a young parent as well as an exhibit of information tables and a carnival of fun teen-friendly activities where kids can celebrate being young. Stay Teen Day will take place Friday, May 28th from 9:00am to 3:00pm at the EPCC Administrative Building (9050 Viscount).
The event is organized by the Stay Teen Pregnancy Prevention Coalition of El Paso Members: Child Crisis Center of El Paso, Communities in Schools, Department of Public Health, ESC Region XIX, Health & Human services Commission, Latinitas, March of Dimes, Project VIDA Health Center, School Age Parent Center, The Medical Institute, and the University Medical Center of El Paso.
