TEEN LATINITAS FEST - MULTIMEDIA DAY - NOV. 13

Latinitas is partnering with KOI Studios to host a FREE multimedia training day for teen girls. The event will feature a photography and photoshop editing workshop led by Bianca Cervantes, a local photographer and graphic designer, as well as a film-making and poetry workshop by local multimedia producer Gracie Cain. Latinitas is currently accepting applications for high school girls interested in writing for TeenLatinitas.com. Our Teen Reporter Program is a group of high school Latinas trained in the fundamentals of journalistic writing and multi-media production. They have done some outstanding things – some things their adult counterparts in media have yet to achieve - including having a national byline in Latinitas’ magazines, interviews with Latino elite such as best-selling author Sandra Cisneros, international music stars Los Lonely boys and playwright and filmmaker Luis Valdez.  We are recruiting members who would like to participate in lessons in writing, photography, video and radio, field trips and coverage of local events. DIA DE LOS MUERTOS WORKSHOP - OCTOBER 9

Girls in grades 4-8 are invited to get creative and learn how to make Dia de los Muertos altars at our next Saturday Camp workshop.   Our monthly creative expression workshops feature multimedia enrichment activities focused on arts & crafts, writing, photography, poetry, audio and video. The Latinitas Saturday Camp series is hosted the 2nd Saturday of every month from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at the Judge Marquez Public Library (610 N. Yarbrough). Latinitas Saturday Camps are hosted by Latinitas, a grassroots group dedicated to empowering Latina youth to build confidence through creative self-expression.
